When he moved to North Carolina, Torry obtained his Builder’s License and started constructing homes on his own. He founded Torry Pinter Construction, Inc., and spent decades in general contracting. His company builds modular homes and commercial buildings, serving both vacationers and permanent residents both in and around Maggie Valley.

As the experience deepened his knowledge of construction, Torry started to look for other ways to hone his craft. The variety and uniqueness of homes in the mountains intrigued him, and at the suggestion of a colleague he got his home inspection license in 2006.
